SKYPE is a service that allows you to connect with anyone around the world using your computer. This program has many of the same features of other Instant Messaging programs such as real-time IM, computer-to-computer calling, and web cam sharing. However, it also alows you to upgrade to more advanced services such as VOIP phone service, voicemail, and video conferencing, among others.

I’ve been using Skype for almost two years now. My primary use was initially to attend and record conference calls for various business trainings. Now I use it for outgoing calls to landlines and cell phones as well.  With no long distance charges, it’s an easy and inexpensive way to communicate. Plus, the minimal cost can be used as a business expense.
