Today got off to a not so great start. It began FAR too early with notice that our plans for pet sitting on Saturday had fallen through. The rain was coming down pretty good but the pup had to (reluctantly) “go” outside for her morning routine. The kitten snuck down to the basement without my [...]

Thankful for friends who help me stretch my faith. Without exercise, muscles atrophy, they lose strength & wither. The same is true for our faith. Obedience is our exercise. Giving thanks in good times & not so good, lifting up others in prayer, trusting God to see us through the seemingly impossible tough times – [...]

Having a pastor for a father-in-law is a true blessing, especially as he always speaks TRUTH. I love his teaching/preaching style, and the homey feel of New Salem Baptist Church.

I am going through a period of personal discouragement. In general, things are good, and I have much to be thankful for. I have a great husband, a beautiful home, and my needs are adequately met. But there are little things that are getting me “down”.

July 29, 2011. Cleveland, Tennessee. A car carrying three young people crashed into a culvert. The driver lost his life the next day. The passenger in the back seat was not wearing his seat belt and is now paralyzed. The front seat passenger was thought to have a crushed shoulder & internal bleeding but was miraculously (Praise GOD!) that very evening with only minor scrapes & bruises. Lives are being changed because of this crash. Some have received organ transplants. Some will turn their lives around for the better. Some will finally answer God’s call. Where there is hope, there is life. Thank you, Jesus!

This is gonna be a long one. We’re going through a little something in the family (AC & I are FINE). I spent quite a bit of time reading today. Much more than I usually do. I’m looking for answers. I’m finding advice, but I know it won’t be received in the way I intend. [...]

There are days when I feel I am prancing about in filthy rags. I don’t start my day out that way, and it’s not that I feel my clothes are shabby, but rather that I am pretending everything is hunky-dory, when in fact, I’m battling with issues of my flesh.
