Off To A … Start

Today got off to a not so great start. It began FAR too early with notice that our plans for pet sitting on Saturday had fallen through. The rain was coming down pretty good but the pup had to (reluctantly) “go” outside for her morning routine.  The kitten snuck down to the basement without my [...]

30 Days of Thanksgiving – 2

November 2, 2011: I am thankful that my mom and Nanny Brown taught me how to cook. This skill has saved me loads of money over the years, provided my family with healthy, home-cooked meals most days, and fed countless friends & family members at various functions.

Revive Me, LORD

I am going through a period of personal discouragement. In general, things are good, and I have much to be thankful for. I have a great husband, a beautiful home, and my needs are adequately met. But there are little things that are getting me “down”.

Tattoo – or not?

*** PLEASE note that this is just my personal opinion! I am not bashing anyone with tattoos or trying to be condescending. This is something that has been on my mind for a while and is only about MY experience and advice I would give if asked. ***

After Effects

July 29, 2011. Cleveland, Tennessee. A car carrying three young people crashed into a culvert. The driver lost his life the next day. The passenger in the back seat was not wearing his seat belt and is now paralyzed. The front seat passenger was thought to have a crushed shoulder & internal bleeding but was miraculously (Praise GOD!) that very evening with only minor scrapes & bruises. Lives are being changed because of this crash. Some have received organ transplants. Some will turn their lives around for the better. Some will finally answer God’s call. Where there is hope, there is life. Thank you, Jesus!

Data collected will help determine the [...]

Someone Special

My One-Eighty

Pastor Ronnie started the first week of his One-Eighty series by saying that in the world we live in, there is little repentance. There is plenty of remorse, regret, plenty of guilt, even some shame. Sadly, all this usually stems from being caught, not from a feeling of having done something wrong.

Blue Moon New Year’s Eve — Define Your Vision for the New Year and Make it Happen

Goodbye, 2009. Hello, 2010. Ready or not, here it comes. Another year is in the making, the beginning of another decade. This New Year’s Eve is an extra special one. Ever hear of a blue moon? It happens when there are two full moons in a month, and it only happens every 2.5 years. Even rarer is when it occurs on New Year’s Eve – only once every 19 years!

Morning Refelections Nov. 17, 2009

This is gonna be a long one. We’re going through a little something in the family (AC & I are FINE).  I spent quite a bit of time reading today. Much more than I usually do. I’m looking for answers. I’m finding advice, but I know it won’t be received in the way I intend. [...]
