We all want to do something to help, but most choose to serve a few hours in a local soup kitchen or donate to the local food bank or women’s shelter. Third grader Katie Stagliano grew a ginormous cabbage on accident and donated it to a local soup kitchen and felt pretty good about it. So good, in fact, that she has started a non-profit organization to do much more of the same.
What I find so amazing about this community effort is that these homeless people, who get so little to eat on a regular basis, are being fed wholesome, nutritious vegetables. Kudos to Katie!
